Abstract

The importance of the research lies in the use of a modern (educational) driver model that is consistent with the preferred cognitive style of the learners, which may help them cross the educational situations to reach the desired educational results. As for the problem of the research, the researcher found a disparity in the learning and results of the learners in college, and this disparity is not compatible with the students’ abilities. The reason is that the student was not given sufficient opportunity to think about the information related to the skills to be learned in the game of tennis. As for the objectives of the research, the most important of them was constructing a test for cognitive achievement, identifying the effect of Driver’s model and the method used by those with the cognitive style (superficial - deep) in cognitive achievement, and learning some basic skills in Tennis for students. As for the research population and sample, it was third-stage students in the colleges of physical education and sports sciences at the universities of Basra and Al-Ain. The application sample included (36) students, and after the cognitive style scale (superficial - deep) was applied to them, they were classified into four groups, and a number of numbers were prepared. Educational units according to Driver's model, and the most important conclusions were that there was an advantage for students with a (deep) style over students with a (superficial) style in both the method followed and Driver's model in cognitive achievement and learning some basic skills in tennis for students
